🚔 Op Overvault: Southall SNT Takes Action on Illegal E-Bikes & E-Scooters 🚔

Southall Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) has been out in force as part of Operation Overvault, a proactive traffic enforcement operation targeting the use of illegal and high-powered e-bikes and e-scooters across Southall and Norwood Green.

Acting on concerns raised by local residents regarding speeding, anti-social riding and road safety, officers carried out patrols and enforcement activity in key areas including Tentelow Lane, Norwood Road, Merrick Road, Top Locks (UB2) and Uxbridge Road, Southall (UB1).

✅ Result: One illegal high-powered e-bike and one illegal e-scooter were stopped and seized by officers.

The riders were reported for multiple traffic offences, including:

In addition to the offences reported, both vehicles were seized under police powers and transported to the police vehicle pound. The e-bike alone is estimated to be worth around £900.

These types of vehicles may appear harmless, but many have been modified or are capable of speeds far beyond what is legally permitted on public roads, creating significant risks for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.

Local residents have repeatedly told us about concerns surrounding speeding and the dangerous use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters in our neighbourhoods. Operation Overvault is just one example of how Southall SNT is responding directly to those concerns and taking positive action to improve road safety.

🚦If you're putting our community at risk, expect action to be taken.

We remain committed to making Norwood Green and Southall safer places to live, work and visit, and will continue carrying out enforcement operations and high-visibility patrols across the area.
